Derek Jeter

by Patrick

Derek Jeter was born June 26, 1974 in Pequannock, New Jersey. He was a big Yankees fan. He wanted to play shortstop for them.

Jeter worked hard and got good grades.

Jeter’s favorite sport was baseball. He hardly ever struck out! He was a great fielder too! Jeter threw 92 MPR to first base. He grew up and is now a shortstop for the New York Yankees.

After his first year with the Yankees, he founded The Turn Two Foundation. The Turn Two Foundation is a group of people that helped kids turn away from drugs. Jeter sometimes could not find his glove in the mess of letters youngsters sent.

In 2003, Derek Jeter wrote a book called The Life You Imagine. To learn more about Derek Jeter, I suggest you read it and many other books about Derek Jeter.
